| Sales of dual-mode mobile phones increasing |
| Wednesday Nov 05, 2008 filed under : Telecoms News |
Dual-mode mobile/ Wi-Fi business phones are becoming an increasingly popular solution to the various business telecoms challenges faced by small enterprises.
That is to be inferred from a new report by Infonetics Research, which suggest that global sales of dual-mode devices will increase by 16 per cent this year, as businesses adopt converged mobile/ Wi-Fi services.
Providing access to hosted business telecoms - both on-the-go via mobile broadband and from company networks through the Wi-Fi connection - these devices are ideal for businesses with both fixed and mobile telecommunications services.
In fact, Infonetics pointed out that fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) client phones will make up a growing part of the multi-billion pound dual-mode market.
"We expect all the phone and equipment segments in the niche FMC market to grow rapidly," added Stephane Teral, principal analyst at the company.
Earlier this week, IT supplier search engine Conjungo revealed that VoIP is the top telecoms priority among small businesses, and accounts for more unique searches than any other technology.
