VoIP providers.
With growing numbers of businesses across the world, including the UK, now looking to online telecommunications applications to cut back on their overheads and improve efficiency, uptake of new technology shows no sign of slowing down.
However, some firms may be failing to see the true benefits of VoIP as they sign up to illegal service providers - a situation the Bangladesh Telecommunication and Regulatory Commission (BTRC) is determined to put an end to.
Warning internet service providers to stay out of the burgeoning online business communications sector, an official for the commission told Bangladesh's Daily Star: "BTRC will not spare anyone involved in illegal VoIP business.
"ISPs should be confined to their business."
Among the major disadvantages of unlicensed VoIP providers flagged up by the report is the relatively high cost of hosted business telecoms services in comparison to the service offered by specialists in the technology.
