Businesses 'should use VoIP to reduce worker stress'
Tuesday Nov 18, 2008 filed under : VoIP News
VoIP in order to keep their employees happy and productive, a new study has suggested.

According to research carried out by the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (Nesta), as many as 56 per cent of workers are currently suffering from stress in their job.

Notably, a significant proportion of those polled admitted that they fear that they may be made redundant as the global credit crunch continues to be felt, with stress levels especially high in industries such as property and financial services.

And, with a number of recent studies showing that allowing employees to make use of hosted communications applications such as VoIP, businesses have been urged to take action before stress starts to affect their bottom line.

"If someone is off sick with stress then that puts more strain on everyone else and you get this kind of domino effect," Tom Stewart, managing director of System Concepts told the research team.

Earlier this month, the website Hiddenwires revealed that the growth being seen in hosted business telecommunications has led to home-working becoming widespread across Europe.
