| Small businesses 'recognise benefits of VoiP' |

VoIP telecommunications solutions, it has been claimed.
Writing in Computer Weekly, Sue Hogg, director of Microsoft UK's information worker business group, asserted that it is wrong to think of VoIP solutions as "the exclusive domain of the enterprise".
Pointing to a far wider uptake of the technology, she insisted that VoIP is just one of several communications technologies which allow small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to optimise their operations.
Addressing recent changes in the industry, Ms Hogg wrote: "It now offers a significant opportunity for SMBs to reduce communications costs and is very easy for small businesses to set up".
She added that technologies such as VoIP "were once out of reach of SMBs but have now become widely available and have evolved specifically in response to SMB needs".
According to a recent survey of SMBs commissioned by Microsoft, there are several 'fast IT goals' for small companies, including VoIP and increased communication and collaboration.
